Cole Thurston Ok After Crash

2009 Lakefest Sunday Eliminations were not typical. Due to nonsubsiding winds on Saturday, qualifying rounds were not completed or even started for some classes. Cole Thurston,

a seasoned driver was waiting for a chance to run a license pass in the new Top Alchol Flat.

A vote decided that the Elimination runs would be paired based on the 2008 driver points. The moring went smooth and mother nature co-operated weatherwise.

Early afternoon Thurston was on the ropes getting his first chance at a license run. Thurston crashed at the start line at 12:12 pm. Thurston, was stunned but ok. The boat is
out of the competiton. Electronic damage, water damage and possible engine damage will keep Tom Thurston busy for awhile.

This is the third new boat going home on a trailer this weekend, the other two were not due to crashes.

The driver, despite being on a license run, was not a new dragboat driver, however he was new to capsules.
