Traci Suffers Tragic Loss

2007 IHBA World Finals held at Firebird in Phoenix Arizona was a race that has hit the hearts of many racers.

For one of our own, Traci Henderson, it was the most tragic event of her life. Traci is a huge part of the racer family. She is the vivacious energetic gal who runs the souvenier portion of the IHBA trailer. She is also the gal who monitors the trailer 'temperature', and gives all of us huge genuine hugs, straight from the heart. For those of you who cannot put the name to the face we made this collage to help you out.

You can hear Traci's hearty laugh from a mile away, but Traci prefers a little alone time when she cries, and as of late she has alot to cry about.

When her parents came to the race Saturday, she expected to spend more time with them during Thanksgiving and Christmas, but little did Traci know that she would never see her Dad alive again.

Her Mom and Dad, left the race Saturday, just before 5pm, for their home nearby, in Tempe, Arizona, only to suffer a side swipe crash as they left the exit for the freeway.

The four-vehicle collision occurred on the Gila River Indian Community south of Chandler. The pileup occurred about 5 p.m. when the car Jim Henderson was driving came to a stop at a junction but then continued onto state Route 347 across oncoming lanes of traffic and collided with three other vehicles.

Traci's dad, Jim Henderson, age 64, was pronounced dead at the hospital, (no other fatalities incurred) while her critically injured mother, Pamela, was rushed to the Hospital to the ICU unit where she is still undergoing treatment.

For those of us who know and love Traci, and wish to help, finanial donations can be made to the the Wells Fargo bank where an account has been set up to help absorb some of the excalating costs incurred during this tragedy. The bank info is at the bottom of this article.

If you were planning to send flowers, the family is requesting financial donations in lieu of such.

Anyone who has ever walked up to the IHBA timing trailer, fan or racer, would have seen her there and chances are she would have been the first person you would have run into, over and over again, as you looked for eliminations or qualifying results, T Shirts, directions or discovered a lost or found item.

During this holiday season please take a little time to pray for and help the Henderson family.

Cards may be sent to Traci at:

Financial donations may be sent to:
