Heidemann Ousts Record

Johnny Heidemann, had lots to smile about at the IHBA awards . He started eliminations being the #1 Qualifier, earned a Runner Up plaque, and drove the Top Alcohol Flat faster than any TAF racer in the nation. Heidemann set a new world record, 174.66 mph. Owners Chuck and Sue Heidemann, and driver, Johnny Heidemann, have been chasing the national MPH record for years. They, along with many others, have dreamed of, and tried to oust the old record, established in 1996 by Rick Jackson driving Flatzilla, owned by Greg Cooper.

The Heidemanns were elated and thankful. Johnny raced the boat to the very edge, twice, in a daring ride, determined to have the Heidemann dream. The boat is name "Nightmare".
